Hi...

This may be a stupid question....but...Will a 1.7 engine and transaxle from a 914 bolt into a 912? Or maybe engine only....?

Thanks....

The tranny rear nose cone for a 912 vs a 914 is different but you can swap parts from one tothe other to make a good working tranny.

The engine fits if you convert it to an upright cooling fan like Jakes DTM plus dual carbs.

Its an awesome swap in using a 80hp 1700 as it has lots of low torque which the 1600 didn't have.

Oh yeah, I love using the close ratio gears (3rd and 4th) from the 912 box with a type 4 and using the tall 5th for freeway. Thats what I have in my 914 as the 1-4 gears are prefectly spaced for acceleration and fun driving.
