After many shenanigans with trying to get the FI board refurbished, I have decided to give up my quest and go dual carbs. I know, I know, It was not an easy desicion for me to make and I have waited a whole year almost and still don't have my car (1974 1.8).
Ok, now to my questions... What is the best performing dual carb setup for a stock 1.8 motor? (i am looking for a dual carb setup that I can put on the car and will work w/ the stock engine). I'm trying to avoid changing out the cam for now. In the future I would like to change the cam but can i simply rejet a dual carb setup to work with a new cam? All help is appreciated greatly! Thanks! |

Joe-
I am curious what other jets you run and when. I have recently gone through a long trial and error procees with my 40IDF webers (with 28mm venturis) on my web-cammed 2 liter. I finally settled on 50 idles, 120 mains, and 180 air jets. I had 55 idles and 125 mains and it fouled plugs regularly. I also had 200 air jets and it ran hot at high revs. With 45 idles it runs hot at all revs. So I think the 50, 125 and 180 is probably gonna be good. Maybe 120 main jets and 190 air jets for a 1.8 to lean it out at speed... |
