After searching, I found that some used 3/8 butyl tape and others use 1/4"
What is the right one? I would assume that if it's too small, there will be gaps and if too big, the glass might move and stick out too far |

I don't think "right one" applies here. I can tell you that I used the 3/8" and it worked perfectly. Unless you found someone who said they used 1/4" and it *didn't* work, you're probably fine with either. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
