Hey all,
While looking for a good engine to put into my V8 conversion I found a place that specializes in LT1 and LS1 engines. I was told before that an LS1 does not fit into a 914, but does anyone know whether an LT1 would fit? Especially if you've done this conversion yourselve or know somebody who has done it please let me know. The project is getting slowly on its way. Bought a 74 roller some weeks ago and I am currently taking off what is still left on the car and assessing the rust spots behind the firewall (no gaping holes). Hopefully it won't be too much of a disaster. Got the chassis stiffening kit already, and the steel GT flares and complete 911SC front suspension should be arriving in a week or two. Looking forward to that. I'm still trying to figure out what rims/tires to use. I like the look of the black-center 930 fuchs but I get the impression that tire selection for 16" rims is kinda limited - especially for wiiiiide tires (245+). Anybody got any ideas for wheels/tires that would fit under GT flares? Johan |

all pontiac ws-6 LT-1's ie: trans ams and firehawks had aluminum heads . the comment that the waterpump will hit the firewall is correct .
solution ,change waterpump. my ws-6 firehawk was totaly reliable and driveable in any weather and any traffic . the same could not be said of my wifes LT-1 corvette. radiator position and air flow is critical w/the LT-1. my 68 gmc pu with the 302 out of an early z-28, bone stock revs to 7k develops 305hp , 292 tq and gets 16 mpg at 60 mph . what more do you need for a teener (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |
