Received my Tangerine Header today from Chris Foley. What a piece of art. It has the H/T coating, the Phase 9 Silencer, the Quiet Can and his new Heat Exchanger. I am very impressed with the quality. GREAT job Chris. I should receive my new engine (2270) back from Jake Raby in the next week or so. It is being dynoed this week. I can't wait to get these parts together and on the car. I am also having the Rennshift shifter, the Tarett front sway bar and the 911 clutch kit installed with the engine. The DE events should alot more fun next year and I also plan to try auto x for the first time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) 911s, look out!!!!

Brad,
Except for a little rust I am talking about the same stubs. They are made of 1 3/4" x .065 ERW straight tube swaged at the bottom and squeezed to hell in the middle. The swaged end is too big for the port without doing clearance work. You can't fit a socket over a 12mm nut next to the tube to properly snug the nuts. After properly torquing them use a dental probe to check for gaps at the gasket surface, before attaching the header. I realize that they slide on easily because the side tubes are accurately attached, but I bet they don't mate well against the gasket. Maybe 2 liter heads have a little looser port, but I doubt it since they all use the same copper gasket. |
