Doggon Westerns! I bought these on the Pelican Parts BBS years ago and have never been able to find lug bolts that will fit. They are the strange flat faced reciever that apparently used a washer. I dont want to convert to lugs and nuts. Doesd anyone know of a source out there for the bolts I would need to fit these Western wheels?
Thanks for any help!

QUOTE(rhcb914 @ Aug 20 2007, 10:01 AM) *

I went down this road last year with Minilite. They no longer make them or have the tooling to make them. All new Minilites use counter sunk bolts. I ended up having the bolt holes machined to accept a modern taper bolt. Only cost $75 to have the work done.

Dudes! You're bummin, just like I was last year. My American Racing wheels had locking lug bolts that were ruined, so I needed 4 replacement lug bolts. Searched here and everywhere for a MONTH and NOTHING! Mine were slightly different than Westerns.

Here's my advice:
1) Measure and post ALL details of lug bolts needed = "washer" OD, thickness; flange OD, length; thread pitch, length; total length, etc
2) Search google for "Mag seat" lug bolts. Gorrilla makes some, EMPI, and others
3) See above....I eventually had my alloy wheels drilled to accept cone seat lugs. There was about 3/4" meat of alloy at the hole to work with, and a standard 60 deg countersink bit did the trick.

Using cone or ball seat lug bolts in the flat mag seat holes will eventually grind down the hole resulting in cracked holes/rims. This happened recently on a track/AX 914 in NorCal that used ball seat lugs on steel rims.

Good luck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
p.s. I check mine for cracks every month just to be safe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
