Sounds familiar….
I bought a '74 1.8 recently that had been sitting since 1986 with 49,000 miles. Here's what I did to get it on the road safely. Pulled the motor - replaced all vaccuum hoses for the FI - replaced all rubber fuel lines - oil change - transmission oil change - fuel filter - new clutch disk - valve adjustment - had fuel injectors rebuilt - spark plugs - Mallory Unilite (clearly optional) with new plug wires - air filter Entire brake system gone through - calipers rebuilt by PMB, with turned rotors and new pads - SS brake lines - 19mm master cylinder New tires and wheels The rest of the stuff I have done has been cosmetic to bring it back to original configuration. It's been fun and I love the L-jet system. Smooth as silk. Enjoy! |
