Hi,
Got a new noise in my car. When starting in first or reverse, I get a sort of grinding noise. Nothing in other gears. I'm hoping it is the throwout bearing, or something outside the transmission itself. Any ideas about this kind of noise that people can think of? Thanks, Jeff |

could be even simpler, that your clutch is out of adjustment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'd love it to be as simple as an adjustment!
The reason I brought up the throwout bearing is that the noise goes away after the clutch is all the way out. I've done some playing to see if I can detect anything in any other gear feathering the clutch. Nothing definite yet.
