After some bulb replacemts all the lights have been working fine on my '73 1.7. Then today my license plate lights and dash lights don't illuminate. The turn signal indicators, oil, brake, alt, and bright indicator work fine, just not the lights for the gauges. Checked the bulbs and fuses, what is the next step? Would the license and gauge lighting be connected?

I don't have my electrical diagrams in front of me so I can't tell you.

Do your running lights work? 1st stop when pulling out the light switch.

As for the dash lights, try rotating /jiggling the headlight switch as you pull it out to turn them on .... the switch can go bad internally and fuchin' with it will sometimes get a response.
