Can you tell me if there is a listing of Porsche internal project numbers? If so, can you tell me what project numbers 310, 621 and 925 included?

No,

It was listed as the 914 but 914 was used multiple times. 914 in 1968 was a study of a 4 cylinder air-cooled dohc engine. 914 in 1969 -70 was the production 4 cylinder car. It appears there was no designation of the 4 cylinder cars after 1970. 914/6 in 1969 - 70 was the six. 914/8 was the 914 with the 908 engine. 914/11 was the tailshifter tranny. 914/12 was the side shifter.

There were 3 designations for 916. 916 in 1967-68 was a dohc racing version of the 901 engine. 916 in 1968 was also a 5 speed tranny for the 908/01 and 908/02 engines. and 916 in 1971 was the 2.4l 914/6 we know.

I seem to remember that the internal project numbers also were assigned to development for outside interests on a contract basis which was a great source of cash flow. I know VW had a standing commitment for a certain amount of development each year.
