Pistons and Cylinders
I believe these are for a 2.0 L. Would they be of any use to someone rebuilding a 1.7? Price looks good but whats the catch? Tx Doug |

You will have too much deck height and that means to low of a CR.
1.7 and 1.8 have 66mm cranks, 2.0 has a 71mm, that would give you a extra 6mm of deck, your going the wrong way. If opening up the head is no problem then get the 1.8 pistons. Should work OK with the stock FI (but I could be wrong). The stock (USA) 2.0 piston does have a dish, but it's nowhere near the huge dish bus pistons have. Those are a bus piston, not 914. The tin will fit OK, all type 4 engines look the same on the outside, except for the 2.0 914 heads. |
