As I am customizing my project car I am going to put better seats in it. I have seen S2000 seats in a teener and they looked good but the owner said it was a tight fit. I see all types of aftermarket seats on ebay in the $300-$500 range after shipping but will they sit too high?
914 seats are very low to the floor and being 5'11" I don't want to look at the windshield frame when I drive. Who else has put something else in a 914 and how do they work? |

I called Corbeau in order to get the scoop on seat heights, as the 914 is very limited in what fits well. Most aftermarket seats appear to place the driver too high. When mounted to the stock seat rails, the Classic II has about the shortest bottom cushion and mounting surface. The next slightly higher is their A4. The Forza is the next step higher after the A4. Apparently Corbeau can "shave" the bottoms to make the driver sit lower, but still not quite as low as the stock 914 seat.
I looked at the seats in my friends S2000. They sure look like the bottom of the seat is very thin, and sits relative to the floor about the same as a 914. Anyone try a mock fit of these seats in a 914? Andys |
