Our race car is going up on the block, anyone looking for a great driver or race
project? Picture below was used by the SCCA in an advertisement for the 2009 Rally Cross Championships in Fountain CO. this month. ![]() We absolutely love this car and it's a pain to say it but it is not the ideal platform for the type of racing we'd like to compete in so we figured we'd offer it up. The stats: 1970 914 with 74' 2.0L 4-banger motor, rebuilt heads, new 96mm pistons and cylinders (aa Pistons 2.1 kit), 40idf Webbers, GT type oil cooler up front, 911 front brakes/hubs, rear spacer/converter plates for 5 lug wheels, 16"x6" Aluminum Fuchs with fair street tires, cheap aftermarket headers, rev-limit rotor, rough but functional racing seats and new'ish 4pt. belts, electric fuel pump up front, Momo wheel and LOUD pipe, Upgraded battery, floor-jack and a cover. Runs strong and very fast and fun to drive. http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images0...af979400edf.jpg http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images0...5e93fc4eea1.jpg Trans would be the weak link but it shifts nicely once you're used to it and we were able to run a 18.5 quarter mile at bandimere as it is (same time a 914/6 and a hot, hopped-up bug both ran in practice) Two additional transmission core's also included in asking price. TONS of extras also included in asking price... the original heat system, console, lower dash-skin, 15x6 Cookie cutter wheels with fair rally tires, other aftermarket, dual-type exhaust, gauges, console, chrome, extra arm-rest/box extra rebuildable 2.0 head, 009 distributor/rotor, fog lights w/grills, head light skins etc. http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images0...7319a18083a.jpg (older pic. before fenders were rolled out and graphics were added... all stickers are professionally applied vinyl and should come off easily with light heat.) Paint is presentable but needs some smoothing/touch-up where we rolled out the fenders for clearance for the larger tires (these actually look pretty good but are not perfect and the paint cracked there so it needs to be sealed up to prevent eventual rust) and where the filler cracked in the trunk. It's a CA. car so there is a giant hole in the front trunk where the AC used to live. http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images0...17e5a5d4bb9.jpg There is a little bit of the typical "hell hole" under the battery but it is all in the thin cabin-tin and not in the suspension or frame NO RUST to speak of anywhere else on the car. We'll be entertaining offers of $5,000 OBO for everything. Clear CO. title in hand and the car is ready to race in SCCA Rally-cross M2 class and likely very close to ready for Solo which we think is where it would be much more competitive. Any offers, questions, requests for more pictures or serious interests can contact me directly via email for an appointment to go for a drive in it. Serious inquires only please. Would consider a suzuki swift gti or comparable car for rally cross racing or vintage vespa/lambretta (no automatic stuff please) as partial trade but need to get a few thousand in cash as well to pay off project partners. thanks for looking, Scott fire it up scotty (at) yahoo (dot) com (no spaces) |
