Hi JP,

Just for you, a little info and pics of tires (tiars (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )....

Background....I like slicks...Goodyears or Hoosiers....but I'm faster on Hoosiers on the track...haven't figured it out.

My new car has a Sheridan narrow body kit and raised suspension points, including new boxes in the front. I talked to Roger Sheridan about this and he suggested using Hoosiers because of their liking a little negative camber and come in some different sizes.

I will try two combinations.

1. (4) 23x11.5x16 Hoosier bias ply slicks all around or
2. (2) 22x10x16 Hoosier slicks up front and (2) 23x11.5x16 slicks out back.

Roger says they should fit since the body kit was designed for a Goodyear combo of
(4) 23x10.5x16 Goodyears......

All combo's will be on 16x10 rims.

For wheels I have a set of (4) 16x10 HRE 3 piece mesh rims that came with the car. 3 are in good shape and one is bent slightly....ok for auto-x...track...I don't know if I like it...

I ordered (8) 16x10 Diamond Racing Wheel "Avenger" series road race rims last week. For 16x10 applications they come pretty much ready for a Porsche 914 with flares. The HRE's that fit the car come with a 5 5/8" neg backspacing. Diamond does half inch increments so I ordered the 16x10's with 5 3/4" backspacing. Roger Sheridan says that this is the backspacing that his kit was designed for.

On 16x10 rims Diamond also has the 5x130mm bolt spacing and drills them to 60 degree tapered lug nuts....standard Porsche stuff. You may hear that they do 45 degree tapers on their wheels and this is true, but mostly on the 14 and 15" wheels. Also, Diamond can only get the above mentioned backspacing on the 16x10's. The bells on the rims cannot accomodate the backspacing on a 16x8.

The best part of the deal is price....~$145 per wheel! A new BBS 3 piece or a replacement HRE was quoted to me at ~$800 each! I ordered 2 sets for the price of 1.5 BBS'.....

The Diamond wheels are ~2lbs heavier each wheel...but I couldn't pass up the price. I'll let everyone know how they are once I get them.

On the HPH fenders you are putting on...16x10 rims with 22x10x16 Hoosier slicks would fit under there...the section width is about a third of an inch wider the canti's and the tread width is half and inch wider....but the sidewall profile is really spread out....me thinks I'll like the turn in of the car when I get to drive...

Here's some pics for kicks.
