I have read many threads and not seen anywhere Window Weld has been discussed to be used in addition to the butyl bead. I have the 3/8" butyl bead AND the 3M Window weld urethane caulk. All the threads I have read in this forum have not discussed the usage of the 3M Windo Weld. I was at the auto paint store and the counter guys seemed to know what they were talking about. What have you guys used? Butyl bead only or Butyl bead AND the Windo Weld. The tube cost $22, so thats not the issue. Will simply placing the glass on the butyl bead do the job??
I'd like to see what you guys have done. I am in the first stages of installation. I have dry fitted, set up the spacers and tape witness marks. Attached thumbnail(s) |
