I'm trying to take the heater control box out so I can clean it, but there are the thick wires that go to the middle and bottom controls that control where the hot and fresh air goes.... I don't get what to do from here. Where do they disconnect? Any help ? Thank you..

Also... while I'm at it, I noticed inside the steering column there are two tubes/hoses that connect to the turn signal and wiper area. One of them is corroded and not connected so, What exactly are these for?
