A box showed up today from 914Rubber- thanks!

In the box were new trunk hinge rollers, but I had no way of pushing down the spring in such a way that I wanted to stick my fingers in there to get the old off & new back on.

So I made a tool. Sorry if this has been invented 50 times already, but I thought I'd share my solution. It's made out of a 16" piece of left over metal shelving vertical (Elfa I think).

Pics below: you come at it from inside the trunk, hook the two slots over the spring bat (making sure you are locked on at the short straight section before the final bend). Then lift up to bend the spring away.
