I'm selling my 1975 914 Beach Boys Racing convertible conversion shell as the perfect body to swap parts from your current car into. If you have a terminally rusty 914, (Many members on this site know how that feels) this can let your car live on in a new body.
The shell underwent extensive rust removal and repair in 2009 and had a new coat of the original red paint put on, but was never re-assembled. This car comes with a brand new and unused convertible top, cover, cover rods, and top frame. (everything that came with the conversion except the glass). From what I've heard about the BBR kit, the top is usually from a Porsche 356 speedster or a Mercedes SL, both extremely expensive to find separately. Beach boys racing converted these cars for years, but there's only a handful still out there and this entire shell will cost less than a fraction of the expense associated with attempting the conversion today. This is also a professionally done conversion by the best, so you should expect the fitment to be perfect of all of the convertible parts. These shells don't sell often, especially not after a complete rust removal like this one. Anyone here can tell you that just swapping the parts from your car to a new shell will always be significantly cheaper and easier than having it repaired, so why not chose a unique body style with minimal effort. I included about 70 pictures of every angle of the car showing every square inch and even a handful of pictures from when the conversion was being done in the link below. I'm located in Boca Raton Fl and can help you load it onto a trailer if you chose to pick up. If you don't like it, please keep all opinions out of the sale thread. I also have this posted elsewhere, as i'm looking for a quick sale. The Good: -RUST FREE -Clean FL Title -Completely solid with perfect door alignment -Original 2.0L Car -New paint job in original color (has a few blemishes, but looks great) -Brand new top -Expensive top frame is included -Looks like it hasn't seen rain in the last decade -Side Intakes allow perfect cooling with the top either up or down. -Top can be opened and closed in seconds without having to get out of the car -Never been in an accident -All parts from any year or model 914 will bolt right in with no real modification required, other than some odds and ends such as glass side windows. The Bad -It's just a shell. Don't expect much more than the body and the parts for the convertible top. -There is damage on the rear fiberglass cross bar from the trunk opening too far, but it can easily be repaired by pretty much anyone. (See Pics) -Needs new lexan side windows, but can be ordered cheaply from the included booklet. -The trunk lid is pretty beat up and doesn't close all the way, it is the only panel other than the cross bar to have any damage of any kind. (See Pics) ASKING $1900 OBO (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-21166-1508361174.1.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-21166-1508361174.2.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-21166-1508361175.3.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-21166-1508361175.4.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-21166-1508361176.5.jpg) Go to this link to see the full gallery of this car from every angle and from the initial build: https://imgur.com/a/oNHGd |
