2.0L w/carbs. Bought the CB Performance Carter rotary fuel pump with filter attached and removing the small Mr.Gasket pump in the same place. The Pump has always been mounted on the lower firewall in the engine compartment.

The new pump and filter is way longer than what was there before.
As the drawing shows, there's the reducer/adapter from the large outlet fuel line to the fuel filter and pump. Due to lack of space, I have to loop a fuel line and mount the pump about 3" above the tangerine design outlet line on the firewall.

?? With this loop, will the pump pull fuel from the tank and then up to the carbs? This is advertised as pusher style pump. Do I need to prime the pump from above first?

?? Or, if I switch the outlet to the 8mm return line and eliminate the reducer/adapter (and the fuel tank filter sock) will the flow of fuel still be sufficient?
