Good evening guys. Recently replaced clutch and flywheel including new rear main seal.
Started car and after it warmed up... oil started leaking out of the flywheel inspection slot. Buddy and I removed all the bits today to see what happened and the rear main seal was torn - looked really bad. The seal had wear on it like it was rubbing against the flywheel. The flywheel is a 215mm stock replacement from AA Products. I'm guessing the seal wasn't seated fully??? What about endplay? Could this have happened if I got the measurement off??? Would like to have as much confidence as possible as to what the issue was before we put it all back together again. Thanks in advance!!! |
