I have to say, this has been an awesome resource and community. About a month ago I sold my 71 1.7 that was near concourse, made room for the 73 2.7 I have been trying to buy from a guy on the east coast. The motor in it is the number matching to my 76 911 Iroc clone. I will eventually swap it out for the 3.0 in my 911 now.
Needing nearly nothing on the 71, I rarely interacted with the forum. I have the 76 911, 92 964, 02 c4s, 86 951, and an 87 928S4. So I have used pelican for year (same user name). Every time I’ve posted a question or need of something on here folks have dug through bin for me to find parts with much less value than the effort of finding, boxing, and shipping them. Over the past decade I’ve become very accustomed to 911 guys wanting $10,000 for a used spark plug lol. The value of some of these cars have ruined the hobby in some regards. I would be naive to think 914s won’t meet the same fate…… but until then. Thanks all. The hobby is fun again. To contribute I will also be listing a bunch of stuff I have collected over the years from other 914 donors and see if they can find a new home. Nothing really big or expensive, but hopefully something folks need. |
