I'll try and simplify this- swapping engines in my '73 2.0 which I've had for 25 years (and known since new) from my '71 which I've had since new. The "1.7" has been extensively modded over the years and is a better engine than the OEM '73. Has Webers and Webcam.
Front Facet fuel pump powered by the original FI fuel pump wire at bulkhead- worked fine when removing old engine. When plugging everything back together I've lost power to the fuel pump- when jumping the wire directly to a battery it's fine. Also when checking power in the relay board, which worked fine a month ago with the OEM engine, the power pin doesn't get 12V with the ignition on. Changed the fuel pump round relay though nothing was wrong with the old one a month ago. Been screwing with this for several days and it's driving me nuts. Sure it is something simple but what the h*ll am I missing???????? |
