Spent some time today cleaning up and lubricating the pop-up mechanism for the headlights. Think it's been on my project list for 10+ years. No issues with that, but in the course of doing it, noticed my passenger side light was aimed much lower than the driver's side. Thought I'd aimed those correctly, hmm... Turns out the threaded plastic adjusting block was mostly stripped out, and the lamp had slipped. Drilled it out, used two nuts behind it to get the adjuster back working. No wonder my headlights sucked!

At this rate, I may get half of my projects done before I'm 90.

Oh, and a recent fix. I've had a minor oil leak for a while, like, maybe 10+ years. I've figured it was the pushrod tube seals or the cover gaskets, despite the oil leak continuing after both had been replaced and inspected. I decided to go to a new mechanic for some basic maintenance items, valve adjustment and oil change, plus inspection. My back doesn't like adjusting the valves any more.

Turns out it was a leaky oil pressure switch. I now have a non-leaky 914 for the first time since, well, maybe ever.
