@914werke just posted this picture, and there’s a back story.
Jorg Austen, one of the engineers on the 914 development team told about how they camouflaged the 914 to do some road testing on a toll road in Germany. It just happened that BMW or Mercedes (I don’t remember which)was also road testing the same day, and when they went through the toll booth, the attendant said “oh you are part of the BMW team, go ahead”, and they charged the other company for toll.
