The 1973 Marathon Blue 914 2.0 that we just finished restoring was accepted into the Featured Cars section of Luftgekuhlt 12. We trailered it from Chicago to Atlanta for last weekend’s event. It was amongst giants (3 Singers displayed a few feet away), but a lot of people stopped by to share their memories and positive experiences with 914’s. The event included a sticker to put on the windshield that had a QR code that you could scan and then be taken to a page with information about the car. Here’s that link for our car:

I’d like to thank the 914World community for all the knowledge that made the car’s restoration to a high level possible. Especially parts obtained from:
Montreal914
914LTD
GaroldShaffer
Brant
TonyR
And Chris Dale of Plymouth, WI – many, many parts from Chris!

There were about five 914’s in the Featured Car area and another three in the Paddock. Being a curated show, they were very specific about where we parked. We were parked rear-to-rear with an all-black 914 from Florida. The owner found out after he bought the car that it was a Bumbleebee. He didn’t know about the registry and it is currently listed in the registry only with the city in Florida where he bought it from. He said he will get it registered.

It was really special being there, getting to meet Jeff Zwart and see a preview of his East African Safari movie that will be coming out this winter. I’m sure there are tons of pictures posted, but here’s a link to some of the ones I took:
