I bought this car from a guy who had it for the past 4 years and did nothing to it. The owner before him did a ton to it, and has most the shop receipts to show it. Engine was rebuilt with a 254 cam, mallory dual points disty, and dual weber 44 IDF carbs.
The carbs were a mess, so I rebuilt them. Car runs better, but still pissy. Timing, points, cap, and vacuum stuff look good, but I believe the carbs are jetted way too rich for this setup. Honestly, I wish it was just FI so I didn't have to mess with this stuff. Good news is, the guy shoved all that stuff in a box and I still have it. I don't know if it all works though, or if it's truely "complete". So my first question is, will the FI operate correctly with the Mallory (no vac advance) dual point disty, and will it operate correctly with the different cam? Second is what is all this stuff in the pictures and am I missing anything? Runners with fuel injectors and fuel rails. (seals and rubber items need replaced) 2. 5 extra injectors... why? dunno, but it scares me. 3. Intake plenum with TB, throttle switch, and air regulator attached. 4. Extra throttle switch... eh.. more extras, I don't like that. 5. Electronic fuel pump. 6. Manual fuel pump??? 7. I have no idea. 8. TB to air cleaner elbow. 9. 2 manifold pressure sensors.. one looks like rebuilt, other looks shot. 10. Don't know 11. Non oil bath air filter housing (with very dirty filter inside) and bracket. 12. ECU (d-jet I suppose) and wiring harness. And then theres a picture of my relay board. I also found the cover for it when I was digging this stuff out of the boxes. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/clap.gif) Anything else you can think of? I don't know if there is a head temp sensor on the engine right now or not. I'll have to check. Dan |
