This cup holder was mentioned in another thread here recently. It fits in to the ashtray location on older VW. Well seems there is a bunch of different sizes depending on what type VW you have. I emailed them asking for dimenstion info on the part that slides into the ashtray mount but of course I haven't heard anything back. The 914 ashtray is 3 3/4 across so If I could ask you to help a fellow 914er out and measure your VW ashtray, please. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pray.gif) I know I know, I have used the roll of duct tape, the wedge type cup holder but this looks perfect for the wife & I when we take the 914 out for the long drives / trips. I'm not worried about it being in the way of vent controls, I haven't tuched mine since I got the car 3 years ago other than to turn the fresh air fan on once or twice. Attached image(s)
