Sorry. Newbee here.

My question: does the 1.8 914 have a magnesium block?

I am considering buying a ratty 1.8 914 engine to use the heads and P&C for a VW Type 2 1.7 '72 bus.

I need to use the bus block and lower end to fit my '72. No access hatch over the engine compartment.

I would like to dispose of the excess 914 block at a New Years Eve bonfire.

Thanks.
