A really great series of articles are available through the NYTimes doccumenting, first hand, the salvage process that went on after Dec 7th at Pearl Harbor.

The writter describes some of the impromptu engineering that transpired, and I thought folks here would like to read about some of the unsung efforts that went into recovering nearly all of the damaged vessels.

And we thought working on slightly rusty 30 year old sports cars was messy and challenging...
