I have modest goals for my car this spring/summer. Mostly I want to drive it a bit more and get it shifting better. It's a tailshiftin' /6. Last summer (I move at a snail's pace at times) I bought a bunch of bushings from Pelican for the car. Tonight I propped the rear end of the car up on jackstands and had a look around.

First I pulled the rear grease cover thingie and looked at the tail end:

Not too bad. Then I pulled off the covers at the firewall:

Hey! Where's the bushing? Then I got to thinking, "Hmmm... Isn't there
supposed to be another one somewhere in the middle?

Wait a minute! There's not only not a bushing. The bracket that's supposed
to hold it is missing too! (At least I think that's where it goes.) And of course,
the bracket is special to the 914/6, so it's probably made of unobtainium.

I can do the work necessary to install the firewall bushing and might as well
replace the rear one since I have a new one. Any idea where to get the
bracket?

Like I said in the subject, I'm surprised it shifts at all. And I haven't even
looked under the shift lever yet (got a part for there as well - 911-424-139-00).

Thx,
