I purchased a battery backed up sump pump last summer after we had (while out of town for the weekend) 8 inches of rain in 8 hours AND a power outage. we came home to a very wet basement. now as spring approches (we hope) i checked the battery and found it discharged. the control unit should keep the charge up, but I need to figure out what is up there. my question is this. after having the battery (deep cycle 12 volt) on the charger for 14 hours, there was leakage of the electrolyte out of the vent caps. is this normal? or did i fuch something up?
TIA for the help |
