I've hacked into many parts of 914's, and this is Murphy's Law #914:
If things go back together without any problems or hammering, you WILL need to take it apart again almost immediately. I ran into this last night again, playing with the rear control arm on the bench. I had put in the bushings and changed the wheel bearing, so the caliper was off. I found that if you take the hard brake line off the caliper, it is not possible to put it back on once the caliper is on the arm! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (with normal flare wrench). Never noticed this before. Mark S. '70 914-6 |
