Hi all you 914 world members! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm a new member, but I've been surfing this site for research purposes.

I am looking at a 74 1.8 914, yellow in color. (happens to be my favorite color) It needs a little love. No, more than a little. Here's a list as best as what I could come up with by looking at the car in person.

Ignition switch/key, it won't start cuz the guy lost the key

Battery tray rusted out and replaced with some angle iron. kind of a hack job.

Rear of the floor pan is rusted out

Trunk floor rusted out.

The driver's left rear quarter is bent up under itself between the wheel well and the bumper.

It could use some body work, but really not a whole lot

The bumpers are kinda nasty

Seats are ripped, carpet is out.

The car is a complete car

It has 2.0L wheels on it, and the guy has owned it for 7 years or so, and up until last january he was driving it. He is firm at his asking price of 1600 for the car.

Sorry, I know, I know. This thread is worthless without pics. Yes, but all I had was my cell phone camera and I don't even know how to get the pics off of it. Sorry, it's the best i could do. If you want to know about any other specific areas of the car, try to jog my memory, and i will do my best to describe them.

I was wondering if this is a fair price for such a car, and would it be worth it to buy it up. If I did buy it, I would probably sell my other projects and get to work on restoring this bad boy.

Let me know what you think,

Thanks,

Jon
