Really nice work. Love the flares and the paint color- they go well together.

A lotta love and work went into that car, and it is really well done. Love the colors used for the door panels and the console as a match for the paint color- it ties the inside to the outside.

Ken
Thank -you, I did my interior last, and when I picked it out is was going through the different colors, when I seen it I said "stop, thats' it" !!!

Thanks for the nice things you wrote about my car...
Now this is coming from my artist view point but art is subjective and everyone is entitled to like what they like.

I would suggest a circuit board type of design on the roof with the crest subliminally
jigsaw pieced together into it. That would keep it with the Tron theme.

Roofs are a dime a dozen so you have nothing to lose, heck i will donate a roof to the cause, i have plenty of them laying around as do many of the club members.

THAT WOULD BE S-I-C-K. Do you airbrush ?? I am also looking into adding a same tone modern blue pearl paint accent around the curvatour of the flares and car curves......I'm sold on the circuit board and crest, now I need your thoughts on the blue pearl accent idea, and its a done deal !!!.........I appreciate your offering of the roof, but I would like the edges to fade into the circuit board, with the crest like you said. SICK CHAPPY, SICK !!!!! I can't wait to get some dog-on cash !!!!

Chappy, and guys, also, do you think that beautiful art work I am going to have done would be better if I put it on the trunk instead of the top, so it can be seen better, and if I ride with my top off, I still have the artwork there ??

J, Thanks, out of curiosity would you mind telling me around how much hp are you getting out of that V-8 ? Is it around the same(200hp)?? I believe I saw a picture of your car, very nice.

Hey Tron,
I am not sure on my HP with my v8. The guy I bought it from said his uncle built it. He said it was a semi aggressive build & was around 250hp. My guess would be closer to 220hp. From what I was used to at less than a hundred HP with a 2.0 4. It really feels like 300plus. Then my drives have been pretty limited with my overheating issues. Should be good in another week once I get my new Renegade setup. Then I can really let loose I hope. Here is picture of my car at it's weight of 2190 (not bad for a v8 car heh?).

I like it on the roof, like a central computer chip with everything coming out of it and running all over the rest of the car. I like the blue pearl touch idea...

I've done some Harleys, and a few cars, my background is airbrush illustration. i have worked with airbrushes since i was about 5 or 6 and made a living using them for the past 38 years.

If i get some time i will play around with some ideas for you, it may be awhile........

This is a pic I've had around for a while. For some reason your car reminded me of it.

You guys are great. I really appreciate all the ideas. When I can, these ideas will be " Phase 3" of my project. J, your car is clean, and I like what you said about the 2.0, that was funny !! So what are you doing differentely with Renegade ?? Is it just the cooling system ? Interesting note, I read in my Jaide car kit information that there is a specific amount of piping needed to get the exact, precise cooling for a conversion, so, in other words, 5 inches to much or less could result in a failure with proper cooling !!! I never would have imagined things are that specific with these conversions, glad I didn't try to put it together myself, and after looking at that wall of shame at Renegades today, I AM REALLY GLAD I DIDN'T TRY TO DO IT MYSELF !!!!!!......Chappy, I have plenty of time. If you have time and are interested, I would like to send my targa top to you, and let you do the design at your convinience, it would be quite an honor to have you do it for me, because of your great accomplishment with your car, and because of your status as an artist, it would truly be a piece I would treasure, I might even be scared to put it on the car !!! (Unless it is a car show). But if you do not have the time, or are not interested, I truly do understand. Maybe you can think about it. I can picture the green circuit board, with the Porsche crest maybe sectioned in four pieces (but still one), two diagonal pieces further back, two standing out (like the Porsche lettering on rocker panels), but still a subliminal crest , like you said, and maybe can get the gold and red colors blended in there, with the green still fading thru it. This would kinda be like that silver morphing effect, It is used in a lot of movies where something comes out of the wall and then forms into whatever it wants. I think terminater used it. But I know this might be a fun project for you as well, I saw that car you drew, I know you can pull this off, but don't get mad at me if all the guys want you to start doing murals for them !!!! ......Markb, your picture trips me out !!! It reminds me of my car and idea too !!!Yes, that is it, basically, I want the blue to glow in certain lights.....thus the Pearl. My thinking is a little more over the fender curves and curving on the car, like even the back of the spoiler, and where the trunk curves up to the spoiler, like that. But yes, that drawing definately helps give me an idea of what I am planning on. Were you considering that color theme at once ? There is a picture of a 914 concept car from long ago (you guys may have seen it ) that I saw posted on the other site, a while back , and it looked just like my car, rims and all. It almost reminds me of Plymouths car too, now that I think about it........If anyone is computer handy and can take the picture of my car, and blue pearl it for me , that would really be great...........Todd, that wiring stuff is crazy !!! I bookmarked it and after I get my artwork and pearl accenting done , I will check into it, thanks.

Tron, are your doors setup with solenoids and poppers, or do you have hidden door handles? I really like the shaved door look on the 914!

QUOTE(tronporsche @ Sep 2 2008, 05:51 PM) *

I also am considering "Lambo Countach" style rims ( 5 circles) , and selling the Milleniums that are on there now. The Lambos are chrome ( not factory chrome painted like these) and have a bolted lip (three piece). They are Aluminum, so they will be lighter than my 911 rims for sure, and he can make me a 4 bolt pattern, meaning I wouldn't need adapters. As a matter-of-fact, go to Brandt racing.com, and they should be there. If anyone e-mails him, please tell him I sent you. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated too.....Something about those Lambo rims I've always liked !!!........

OK someone has to say it i guess it will be me.Yes very cool car by the way lets get that out of the way first thing. But you say a little more paint will take away the seriousness of the car BS whats serious about it ITS A TOY.You say you want to keep the originality of the car BS!That was gone along time ago so what the hell you worried about. No disrespect intend JMO again cool car

Sleepin, the poppers etc., are a work in progress. I've put that off til I find someone who will do it the right way, with quality parts, I have heard horror stories !!! The car is never out of my view

......Mr. C, no offense taken, and thanks for the compliment !! When I was talking about the paint being added to it, I was referring to the "mural", not the Pearl accents. I SAID " I LIKE ORIGINALITY", not , I want to keep the car original. I am afraid you read the post wrong and are going to have to read it again, therefore no, I am not throwing out...... BS........ Also, just because I have flairs and not a chrome bumper with a set of fuchs, Like just about every stock 914 you see on the street,( I am not pointing you out, I am just stating a fact, and there is nothing wrong with the stock look, and your car looks nice also) and have made the car more attractive to people with the body kit and custom work, doesn't mean it is a toy, and the street glow lights are special effects for night. Beleive me when I tell you, the car sounds like a monster, and will blow the socks off half of the jealous bastards that try to pull up next to me.... and I still have plenty of speed upgrades to go.

Well, although not my style, I like it. It shows that you are using the ideas you have for your car. Everyones tastes are different, and I agree that the bone stock or standard /6 with flares can be somewhat redundant. Everyone seems to dig certain "unusual" 914's (neo914, chappy, tron, and the anklebiter), these cars are great IMO! They show the potential to customize a car that does not have a lot to customize. The 914 simply does not have the surface area required to do most modifications! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Bottom line is that most of us have these cars to drive and enjoy (or look at on jackstands) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) So do what you like and enjoy the car, it is yours after all!

I have a star wars action figure collection, that are "toys", I have video arcade games, that are "toys", I even have a Ferrari F430 remote control car that is a "toy", but to consider an automobile that you must have a valid drivers' liscense to drive, registration, as well as proof of Insurance that includes medical coverage , in case you run over someone at 30mph and kill them because it weighs over 2000 pounds minimum, and is so low to the ground it scrapes speed bumps, well, I really don't think THAT should be considered a........."toy". Just because something is fun, doesn't mean it is a toy, I am sure that anyone that enjoys shooting guns would agree. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But you are correct, they are fun to drive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hey, if you would have said "overgrown remote control car" instead of toy, than that would have been acceptable (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) And don't be hatin' on me because I still have my Star Wars and you were foolish enough to sell your G.I.
