I sure remember that picuture, very distinctive car and background.
As I recall, it was wrecked a few years ago by the car's owner. Not sure of its current status. |

The story was that it was an original /6 and the owner's son swerved to avoid something (like a broken down car or kid in the road) and ran it into a tree. Apparently it was getting/got fixed.
It was from somewhere in the South East like TN. |

I think this would fly better with the vw people than the porsche people.
for the past 10 years VW has based it's reputation on nostalgia... and being the 914 is the only "sports car*" vw ever produced, the 914 would fit right in. I for one would like to see it... although doubtful. VW nixed it's VW bus remake which I think would have been a big seller. *I would not consider the karmann ghia or scirocco a sports car |
