Day 2

Stage 1 Point Arena to Boonville for lunch. This takes over Mountain View Road, which is simply fantastic. Boonville has great foodie options too.

Stage 1 Map

Stage 2 Boonville to Cloverdale to 101 South

Another great Mendocino Hwy featuring non-stop twisty technical corners from the start until we hit 101. Everyone can continue to their respective homes from here.

Stage 2 Map

It'd be great to know who's in for one day and who is in for staying in Pt. Arena. I'll put everyone in charge of getting their own rooms, so it'll be on your shoulders if you don't show up! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Randy, you need to change the title of this post to something like "The 914 Stimulus Plan"

Looks like fun! I'm going to try to work on this one. My brother lives in Gualala and I never get down there. Might meet you guys at Point Arena. I'll work on it. Andy, you gonna do a day?

Hi Randy:
I'm up for the one day tour! Looks like a fun drive and a good "get the bugs out" warm up for WCR. Will eventually need more detail re: time/location of start in Marin.
Later,

Wow, I would love to get in on this trip. My car, After to long to say, is real close to completion. I am not sure if that far is comfortable. I have a few bugs to work out but car is real close. I will work on it this weekend and see where it leaves me.

But if all trials go good. I will make at least the first leg of the 1st day. I may tow to start on trailer ( i will hide this from all so no embarashment is felt my any member) just a saftey idea for me.

Any objections to a 356 and a Beck Spyder with a 914 engine tagging along?

I am now hopeful that my 914 will make it ... However, if not I will probably sneak in with a 74 911 ....

I screwed up a bit! The hotel I had my sights on for Sat night doesn't have availability. Let me see what else I can find. I'm assuming nobody has made reservations anywhere at this point, right?

Hey all,

I'm a SoCal transplant now living in San Mateo. This excursion sounds great. I'm looking forward to getting the teener out to stretch its legs, and to meeting some new car friends.

OK, I just booked two rooms (Sylvie and myself, and Glenn) at the Surf Motel in Gualala for Sat April 19th:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g3...California.html

Nothing fancy, but only $99/room. I called them on the phone and got that rate - (707) 884-3571. They have a 48-hour cancellation policy, so if you're on the fence you should call now. Better to book now and bail later vs. being stuck without a room. I'm not sure what they have left.

There are a lot of hotels in Gualala and it's a small village so it's not a big deal if you end up at a different hotel. I wouldn't wait any longer to book your room if you're planning on doing then over night trip with us. Rooms seem to be disappearing quickly.

Here's all the lodging in Gualalalallalalllallalaaaa:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g32463-G...nia-Hotels.html

I'll update my original post to reflect the updated route.
