I took my old rusty fog lights apart and cleaned and painted them.

Now I can't figure out how to install the spring clips the hold the
reflector into the housing. Anyone have any tips or pictures of
the process? This is the last part of refurbing my lights before'
I reinstall them.

Before you drop the TTIWWP my camera is in Germany with
my wife this week, or I would post some...

Thanks,

John

No one has pictures of the fogs with the back cover removed?

The springs should be visible then. There does not seem to
be enough room inside the housing for the reflector, glass,
and wires...

You could always drop the TTIWWP yourself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Apparently this thread is worthless without pics. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
Sorry, but I've never taken a set apart nor do I have a picture. But here's a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) for ya.

Yesterday I was trying to figure out how to get them apart so I could repaint them. I gave up and worked on the pedals instead. Are you telling me to tape off the glass and leave it togeather?

Insert the smaller side in first and press the longer end down and slip it into the ring.

Now mine's apart. I may need to look at this tomarrow after the paint drys

Okay, those are the pictures I was hoping for. I was not sure anymore what
the orientation of the clips was supposed to be. I messed with it for an hour
before giving up and starting this post. I'll try again tonight and let you know
how easy it is to reassemble.

Success!!! Once you realize the clips hold the reflector to the glass trim ring
and not to the fog light body, it is a piece of cake putting it back together. Doh!
The fog light bodies have a similar lip that looks like it should hold the clips
but of course nothing fits right... Once I headed down this wrong path I was
screwed until seeing a picture of the right way...

Thanks for the pictures.
