Thom,

I don't have access right now. I'm rebuilding the computer where those pics reside.
They don't have a lip like you have pictured. I'm really not sure how they would look on a teener. They were on my 951 before it burned, well, after it as well.

If you could spend a little more the Lindsey Wheels look really nice and they can be totally custom sized. I think they are like $450 each.

Thom, you wont find dished wheels for late model cars. They totally changed the suspension setup which is why you see people like Gary Jackson and Richard Fisher running 3 inches of wheel spacer to make the later wheels fit the 914's properly. The late model offsets are WAY out there.

Sean,
Being able to spend more is not the issue....
The issue is more ralated to the value of what you
are buying... Dave made the obvious point of supply
and demand.... But besides that, the difference in cost
between our wheel pattern and another for the same basic
wheel does'nt make any logical sense...except for the issue
of supply and demand..... I want to be able to spend money
on other parts for the car, and not simply put tons of money into wheels...
Again, there has to be a wholesale source...

Like Brad said, the ET values (offset) of the late cars that these wheels came on are huge
Off the top of my head, they are ET 55 or close

If you want 3 piece wheels, you're gonna pay the price, no matter what
Those 3 piece wheels also came on the 964RS and 993 targa in 17" (if that size is an option for you)

IIRC Speedline (the OEM of the cup-style wheels) also sells copies of the cupwheels (cup I, cup II and turbo twist - not the 3 piece ones) for pre-'89 offsets, so you don't have to run spacers (and can still easily swap earlier style wheels)
I think those are your best bang for buck

cheers,

Jeroen

What's the problem with spacers if they are factory quality?? Don't some of the most worshipped 911 series cars come from the factory with spacers???

wouldn't this have the same issues as using a 4 lug to 5lug adapter??

Nah - a lot of the probelm with the 4-5 lug adapters is that every nut is different - one lug goes through the wheel straight into the hub; two of the lugs are studs from spacer to wheels.

A 5lug to 5lug would be just like a spacer and would have even spacing between the lugs.

Guys,
17" wheels would be fine, and I really don't care if they are 3 piece or not.. I just want to find some nice, reasonably priced wheels... I'm OK with the cup look, and I really like the turbo cup look, but I don't like the twists...just my tastes, not to offend anyone -

Yes, some cars came from the factory with spacers, but AFAIK they are all less than an inch thick. 3 inches is pretty damn huge. I think I've seen even larger on some of these 911s with fiberglass 993 body kits. I wonder if these spacers are up to the task, and I feel sorry for the car's wheel bearings.

I believe I need 1" (27mm) spacers for my front wheels and 2" (54mm) for my rear wheels. I managed to pick up a set of 27mm factory spacer and now I'm looking for the 54s. I was told the factory used the 2" or 54mm?? The 27s are "thru" spacers not bolt ons, but I don't know about the 54s??

This link is of a company in Germany that makes adapters from 5x130 to other 5 bolt patterns. Still costs 150 Euro per pair though (170 with VAT - NA for export). Anybody knows of a company/store in the US that can provide such adapters?

http://www.spurverbreiterung.de/frame.php?lan=uk
Click on "catalogues" at the top
Select "adaption wheel spacers"
Select "5 holed adapters" on the left

I'm such a dufus. If 5x130 to 5x100 is an okay adaptor spacer combo, then 4x130 to 4x100 is also an acceptable combo, and most of the 4x100 wheels out there need spacers anyway. Now that is something we ought to be producing.
