I use to use Kiwi Carriers. I don't have the number here at home, but they were the cheapest and decent service.

1st of all, most of the companies you will call, will be Brokers, not the People/Co transporting your car. They qoute you, then they put the transport up for bid. Once a truck is full-booked, arrangements are made.

I would think a Pick-up truck would have to go on top, which is usually a $100 up charge.

I used Webster Services - waw84@hotmail.com - 888-333-6343.
I know Dr. Evil used them as well. They were the cheapest Brokers.
You pay them a Deposit (probably their take) and you pay the transporter the balance in CASH. They don't take credit cards or checks. Afterall, they are usually Russians and don't want to pay taxes.

I used this guy to deliver my 914 from NV to GA. I went through a broker, but he gave me his card, so he can be contacted directly for a better rate. He was prompt and called me along the way to update his status. I highly recommend.

The less you pay, the worse the real service will be.

They may or may not actually pick up the car on the appointed schedule...that gets iffy.
They will most certainly NOT deliver the car on the day promised...and they will call you (maybe) to give you all sorts of excuses ...truck broke etc....

We have shipped alot of cars to and from my place and I suggest you pay the little bit extra and get some guarantees of timing unless you are unemployed and have no issues with waiting for days (yes days) until the car actually shows up.

We has on that was 4 days late...they told us every day it was coming that day...then it would not show up...no one would return phone calls...it sucked.

Be careful up front and tell them you actually have a life and you cant wait for them to deliver it sometime...but they need to offer MONEY if they do not deliver as scheduled. That is the only way I do it now.
If give them a 6 hour window...then money goes back into my pocket, and I get that on paper.

Thanks guys. I'll pass the info along to him. It's a $2500 truck, so he's trying to go the cheapest way.

My brother-in-law ships cars from AZ. Does a real good job at it. They live in Chandler. If you're interested I can furnish a phone number.

Cheap carriers have irratic schedules. Which was no problem with me when I had a 911 shipped from Michigan. Car was only hours late not days.

What happens is they take calls on the road and sometimes get diverted to another location to pick up a car. Possibly delaying the delivery of your car. Pay more money get a better chance of getting the car the time you agreed on.
