Mixed reviews about CB Performance stuff:

http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=280

Worth anything? $1800 seems spendy, but you get modern tune-able FI with 4x48mm throttle bodies. That seems cool. Plus it's all done, not much farting around with looking for parts.

Anyone ever actually put one of these on a 914 before?

No experience with this kit but i would think the injectors are in the wrong spot. They should be on the bottom of the intake runners and squirt directly on the back of the valves.

I had these made by Staggs Racing:

I thought the same thing, even the factory FI has the injectors pointing directly at the intake valves.

I guess keeping the injectors in the TB's keeps the parts a little more universal?

48's seem awfully big. I've got 45's on mine and it is just shy of 2.4 liters. Get them too big and throttle response will be poor and it will be hard to tune. My injectors are in the throttle bodies and it seems fine to me.

The old stock injectors ran at 30 psi and the pintels didn't vaporize the fuel as well which certainly would favor pointing them right at the intake valve.

I noticed the 48mm TB size as well. That's why I posted the second link that has 40mm TB's.

I'm a little surprised someone hasn't put together...well I guess CBP has, a EFI kit for 914's.

There's lots of threads on SDS, MS and others. It isn't that hard to piece things together. If I dropped $1k on parts, I could get the 40mm TB's, use my carb manifolds and probably have a good working system.

It's a thought. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

It isn't that hard to piece things together.

It's one thing to piece things together and make them work.

It's a completely different thing to assemble and sell a kit that doesn't turn into a customer service nightmare ...
