I've been thrashing lately trying to get everything buttoned up. I've had my car running since late late last year, but I had a ton of stuff to do in order to be road worthy. Well today I finally drove it to work. I had to today because I needed to weld on my passenger seat hinges in order to keep putting everything together. Well everyone at work wondered why it was so dirty.... but apparently they didn't realize that I've had just about everything on the car apart over the past couple weeks and that was my first test drive beyond going around the block.

Anyway I'm back on the road and it's running great! Now I just need to go wash it and put the rest of the interior back together.

The black 72 in my signature with a 1.7 Djet. Dropped a valve seat 8 years ago and then college and then buying a house got in the way. A 40 year old fuel injection wiring harness sure didn't make anything easier either.

I threw the interior together last night and buffed out the front and rear trunks after washing everything. Heading out to a car show all weekend. Definitely not perfect, but much much better. I'll throw up picks on Sunday night when I get home.

This is from the second day I drove in to work. I broke down on the third... bad set of trigger points. Should have a new set in the next few days and I'll have to get a picture with a decent camera. The second picture is without an engine after I graduated from college a couple years ago, and the third is how I bought the car about 8 years ago.

The other two cars in the picture are darn near perfect, but they both bought them perfect... where as mine was pretty rough and rusty everywhere.Attached Image

Is that a 67 Ranchero? I love those cars! That is great that your back on the Road!
I especially love the original picture from when you bought it! Those two VW bugs and the Squareback are nice additions to the photo!

Well I had a couple of more bugs to work out (bad trigger points and a TERRIBLE front wheel bearing), but this past weekend I put about 350 trouble free miles on it! I headed up to Stanwood for a wedding and then since I was in the area, I entered the Edmond's car show on Sunday. My biggest problem of the weekend was that my passenger side sun visor fell off... but if that's my biggest problem I think I'm doing alright!

It's definitely not perfect, but it's sure nice to be able to get some seat time in before the weather gets too crummy.

And yes that's a 67 Ranchero. Dead stock and pretty much perfect. He's also got a 67 Galaxie 500 that's VERY nice. Well he's got several other cars, but those are the main two he drives.

Your car reminds me a lot of mine before it got totaled. Congrats on getting it back on the road!

I'll have to swing by your place next time I'm up that way Rich. I just didn't have much time this weekend. I got about 30 mpg on my first tank so it's even economical (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

To be totally honest, this car is where I got my inspiration from when I originally changed from rusty and crusty orange to black:

That thing's been on there for a LONG time.
