Lord knows I can be anal as hell, but I don't think the two different shades of purple go together that well. They kinda clash.

I like the idea of changing up the color.
I like the darker purple a lot.
I don't like the brighter purple used on the buttons.

You don't want the buttons to fade into the background. I wonder if going with a contrasting color might look better, like maybe yellow for the buttons.

Regardless, Jeroen, you've done a fantastic job. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif)

It was rather weird. I was posting last night, and after a post all of a sudden the button colors changed. I went to click on the WCC Info button on the top banner and when the page refreshed, it was a 2004 Porsche logo. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I thought I was getting "Real" tired. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
The buttons look blue to me. But blue and purple are my favorite colors. So no complaints here.

Not too happy with the purple on the buttons either...
Will work on it later. At least we have a little change for now

Hope to come up with some sort of total re-style a.s.a.p.

cheers,

Jeroen

The buttons should have little 914's on them.. and NOT the stupid "people"/newspaper/PM thing's...

Just a thought. I know we have a lot of buttons.

We'd need to resize it, but what about making buttons kinda like this?

Well, Jenny, I gotta agree with ya...
(and I can take YOUR shit any time babe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))

I'm not too pleased how this all turned out
So don't expect the current layout to live very long

Some how I'm low on inspiration right now...
That's usually what happens if I'm trying too hard
Something better will come soon, I'm sure

cheers,

The old font was better. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I think the blue looked better than the purple too.
Now the topic list down arrow buttons look almost black.

YaRoon!

Don't be bummed. I'm sure you've been throught this before -- color selection is hard.

We just completed the first round color selections for our commercial site -- what a pain! -- and it's easy to make changes that when you look at them.. er.. well, let's just say they don't always turn out as expected.

For my money, I like warm colors. Red, Orange, Etc. they show up best on my laptop. These dark cold ones basically all look the same -- dark. So the new site colors are not on my "favorite" list. (like that actually matters (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif))

I'd be interested in trading email on your color strategy tho -- not sure I can help that much, but I'm fresh in the color discussions for other reasons. Ping me if it would help.

kim.

[ps. Good to meet you out here at the WCC!]

Interesting car, color and engine combo! I used to go to Reath Automotive (when they were in Long Beach and later, Signal Hill) all the time to buy my National Dragsters and hop-up parts for my dually; they were great people! I knew Joe Reath had a thing about building (blown-) hemis and flat-heads of all types...but never knew he built small blocks for teeners! I should have suspected something, though...'cause he kept a pair of Webers on tall, type IV manifolds in a box in the corner of the shop for an awful long time...but I could never could talk him out of them! I sure spent a lot of money on parts there and spent a lot of time listening to stories about some of the biggest names in drag racing!

I made a few buttons based on the image I yanked from the banner up at the top of this page. The purple isn't quite as bright as the earlier ones, nor as dark as the current ones. The shade can easily be altered to whatever you like.

When you click on them they move like a button would. I may not have piles of cash to throw at this board to keep it going, but I'll jump at the opportunity to donate my time and effort.

I agree with using Pnambic's button scheme! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Since their are so many different pages on the 914 club, why not use a variety of original 914 car colors?
If that doesnt make you feel like your on a "RollorCoaster" then nothin will.
