VDO makes the head temp. You can pick 'em up at Bus Boys. I bought 1 gauge with 5 extra sensors. I'm still looking for a switch that will work. When the car gets here I'll probably look more seriously.

I'm using a VDO head temp gauge. It matches the gauges in the console pretty well. It uses a thermocouple with a ring that replaces the sealing ring on a spark plug. It makes replacing plugs a pain but I'm glad to have the information. Mine is on #3 which is supposed to be the hottest cylinder.

A/f is a different matter. I know Innovative has a Wideband O2 unit that's pretty cool and Techedge has a couple of choices along with kits. I don't know how these display. Be prepared to spend some serious $$. Don't waste your time and money with a narrow band unit as our engines run off their scale.

Rich,
do you know how those work? Are they like the VDO/factory style?

since they come in 14mm and 18mm sizes i am ASSUMING that is the spark plug size for the ring-style thermocouple. some of the other CHT kits on that site used a different style sensor, tho...
if you go back up to the "Cht Guages" link you'll see several varieties, including our familiar VDO guage.

tech note for those considering CHT's - thermocouples product microvolts of power, and the guage head is very carefully calibrated. you must not make any changes to the thermocouple leads. do not shorten them. do not add connectors.

this is one place where shopping at an outlet catering to the experimental aviation market is a plus -- most certificated aircraft are front-engine and the panel is fairly close to the cylinders. but several popular experimental category are pushers like our cars, and must have provisions for longer leads ...
