I have a similar cooler and fan parts...sold the oil-filter adapter when I sold my engine. I'm sure they are cheaper than the link you posted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But your list is a good one, all good upgrades! |

Drop the motor and redo all the tin, FI tubes and vacuum hoses.
Clean the tranny. They are always feelthy. Install new CV's - That will make you feelthy. Clean the engine bay while empty. That can hurt even a young teener. Get new tin rubber from Mikey. That should take 2K of wind out of your sails. Nothing like a spotless motor and lots of busted knuckles. Just ask me. I know how to piss away all your money on a 914. So far I have been very successful in pissing away all my money I ever had since the kids moved out. I've done it like 7 times. Let's see: 1976 - 1973 2.0 Olympic Blue - Totaled by next owner in 1980 1981 - 1973 2.0 Bahia Red - Sold in STL with 100K hard miles 1983 - 1973 2.0 Black - Sold in STL in 1988 with 124K hard miles 20 year pause for marriage, divorce, kids and private school, horses and cars and college expenses 2008 - 1974 2.0 White - Sold to Michael in Irvine - Think he cut it up in 2010 2009 - 1973 2.0 Signal Orange - Sold to Hal in Palo Alto in 2012 2010 - 1975 2.7S 6 Palma Green Metallic - Sold to Patrik in Germany in 2011 2011 - 1972 -2.2T 6 Brown - Converted by THOMAS - Sitting in my garage 2013 - 1974 2.0 Alaska Blue Metallic - About to be repainted - Sitting in my garage OOPS That Makes 8 J |

All of the above with one caveat:
SAVE the money and start putting it back together. You are guaranteed to need more than $1000 in items that you havent even thought of yet...... My "Hey just $3600 for a race ready car" has turned into close to $10K.... Stu |

Not a plus one, but only because I don't have a lift yet. I like the idea of investing in tools. Having the right tool for a job can save you huge amounts of time and money and damage to your knuckles. It can even save your life. And a quality made tool will last your lifetime and that of your grandchild that you leave it to. My next tool might be a press. It might be a lift. It might be a beer fridge for the garage. Other than that, save it for the weekend you drive the 914 to Tofino. |

Invest your money in more penguin stock, not another tool on your property, I think you are the only a tool that should be on your grounds... |
