Most of the connections come from eastern europe ...

It's a distributed network of hijacked computers that they (remote) control.

They are also getting smarter about the way they attack. They now target very specific pages that they know i can't lock down without kicking off everybody else as well ...

How can one tell if their computer has been hijacked and is being used by one of these organizations? Is there a test we can run? I ask because mine pauses for a few seconds at a time on a regular basis. As if it is doing something else. I'd feel like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) if I was one of the hi jacked comps. Could it be the program Lazarus that is running on my comp?

I got the server setup so we can survive their attacks without crashing, however, the added load does slow things down considerably, not much i can do about that.
