How many 914-6 gt race cars were really built?
Do we have a thread here that documents all of them with pictures? Just curious about the various liveries with the old school sponsors and decals from the period. Rich |

How many 914-6 gt race cars were really built? that depends on your definition of "914-6 GT" there is no official definition so, are you talking about Porsche Werks cars would you also consider Porsche factory built customer cars or even cars that were built at other racing teams (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Do we have a thread here that documents all of them with pictures? best try might be the GT page from Armando Serrano ... |

For years there has been debate over what makes a 914/6 GT.
In my opinion the cars are broken down into 4 categories 1) Built GT (Factory Raced) these are very well documented 2) Porsche Built GT for customer these are very well documented 3) Dealer Built GT 4) Privateer Built GT (raced 1970-76) very easy to document All the other are tributes or replicas |

Porsche 914/6 R
In racing, especially the modified by the so-called "sports kit" Porsche 914/6 R was used. Because of its registration in the GT class of the FIA sat for him the name Porsche 914/6 GT by. There were about 32 in the factory Porsche 914/6 GT produced, were added 400 GT official kits of Porsche. Since the GT chassis numbers from the current production had an exact identification is very difficult. Besides fender flares, body reinforcements and an additional front oil cooler, especially the 2.0-liter engine with dual ignition is worth mentioning, which was incorporated in the racing version of the 914/6 GT. In contrast to the rally events of 914/6 GT was quite successful in racing. Source: Wikipedia |

Probably not completely accurate but this should give you some idea: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act...vins&byGT=1 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Shocked not to see loads more silver cars like all the other porsche race cars from the early days. |
