Haven't heard anything. It's on my list of projects, if no one else gets to it first.

I've been looking at ways to do this, but would rather buy something that fits properly.

Anyone make headway on this?

rick 918-S has an orig 6. This would probably be childs play for him to make. I have all the hardware to do the conversion but I will need the dash modded.

I have been using this switch park and it works great.
Used test light and extended wires from ignition.
One switch for fuel pump, one for accessories and one for oil cooler fan.

Mine was done using an original six dash. The one thing I didn't get was the bezel for around the key. You need one of those also.

Converting the column is easy, just remove the mounts from a 911 column, and weld on the mounts from a 914/4 column. I had to slightly alter the clamshells to clear the geddy dash I used, but in the end it looks fine.

I have an impression pattern on the work bench but I will not be doing anything with it until Ben's 6 leaves the shop. Maybe I can give it to my son Aric as a project after he's done with the teardown and documentation on the 911 Targa we have here. But I won't touch it until After Ben's car. 2 weeks. 3 max.

So you don't have a key at all on the right-side of the wheel? Did you just grind down all the "stuff" there?

I'm thinking about something similar, but want to dig a little deeper before I bust out the sawzall.

I'd be in for a couple bezels.

The ones from AA fit terribly and the finish is awful.

I have a casting of the relief, but was thinking 3D scanning, and having a die set milled CNC to make them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

If you want to make these they could be printed, depending on the quantity needed.

So in addition to this: http://bit.ly/1igHOtv

I'd need a 911 steering assembly too?

What about doing something like this: http://bit.ly/1cg8Gvh

Modified so it triggered something like this: http://bit.ly/1igIsam

Did that make sense?

I wondered about the fit of these and this answers my question - will not be buying. The other part of the 911 switch housing is the threaded part which appears to take a large diameter thin nut to secure it besides the ears that usually use the snap off bolts , where might there be a source for these thin nuts ??

This is exactly what I was thinking! It would be fully functional and the switch would be at the right angle and the number of parts and cost would be minimal.

I just put a 911 switch and bezel on it. Not stock looking...but neither is the rest of the car. I just cut off the steering lock mechanism.

Now that's the way to go...I think I'll do that, since I need a new ignition and key anyway.
