I am looking to buy the Auto Atlanta 91450300910GRV rear fiberglass valance for the GT flair installed cars.

I did a search and just wanted to know if anyone had purchased one of these and their opinion on fit, quality and looks on the steel fender equipped GT type cars.

Are these the best or is there another vendor you would recommend and why?

Thanks

MSDS makes one. I would buy from Marty.

AA stuff fits like shit. I have 2 sets of rockers for GT flares that are nowhere near close to fitting. It isn't placement of the flares either. The rockers are just plain made wrong.

I have no experience with Marty's pieces, but know he has a pretty good reputation

I had one from AA that someone gave me. A lot of work required if you want it to blend nicely to the contours of your flares. And I mean a LOT. I didn't use it.

I got one from Patrick; still needs some glass work on the ends but a way better starting point. A lot of people would leave it as is and honestly it would look fine.

I had a set of Marty's headers for my 2.2 engine and they are phenomenal. If his valance is anything like that quality I'd look there too. And Marty is fantastic to deal with.

I can't find any good shots of the valance but here's a couple showing the union to the flares after a bit of extra shaping.

Experience tells me never to purchase anything from Automobile Atlanta. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Hey, cute green car. Does it run? Looks as though the gnome hasn't been working much on it lately (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I had the steel rockers and the front and rear valance flared to match the wheel flares by the person that put on the flares. Looked really great when painted and mounted on the car.
Yes, it cost a little more, but I thought if I'm putting on steel flares, why not put on steel rockers and valances.

Everything I've bought from Marty has been top quality.
I just WISH he had better pictures and more details on his website!! (like that picture of the GT valence...)

As usual, I appreciate the input and I have ordered one from MSDS as a result! Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Don't worry, Dave has invited a few of us to the warehouse when he gets back to have a surprise build part for you. He made sure to mention we should bring welders, grinders, sanders and all our bodywork tools to finish up the patina you have been dreaming about for your ratrod green 914.

Funny how once they are done you forget how long it took. I'm four years in on bare metal and back restorations of two cars being done simultaneously.

Of course, Eric took 10 years so I don't feel so bad. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Whoa man!!?! Did I say 10 years???

Why yes, yes I did.
