I am doing a 3.2 914 conversion. I need to source a good unit with leak down numbers provided by the seller and reasonable miles. Of course I need all injection, DME, etc.

Any leads are appreciated.

Check Pelican parts 911 Classifieds and also LA Dismantlers. I've bought 2 very nice 3.2L engines for 914-6 conversions from LAD in the past 18 months.

If you don't mind me asking, how much were the LA Dismantlers engines?

A 67K engine was $9K shipped from CA to TX and a 29K engine was $9.5K shipped.

29K engine. It was like getting a new crate engine.

As with any dismantler, get the engine type, engine serial number, get pictures, get emails to backup the detail and be very clear on what you need. A compression test, leak down and visual check of the studs is a good idea.

Yes, post on Pelican Parts that youre looking for one...you never know what will come up.
We got Huey's, with DME and harness, for $4000... needed a little cleaning and coaxing of the injectors, but it's been good for 4 years now. Doing a rebuild now, but still way ahead of the game..

Perfect timing...I am getting ready to re-install my rebuilt 3.2 into our 1989 Targa in a few weeks and this could be a great reference photo!

4K is great buy for a complete 3.2L engine. Probably a rare find but I agree on rustling all the bushes.

I am curious why a good 3.2L needs a rebuild after 4 years in a 914? Was it a race engine?

Huey does races, DE's, Auto-X's & Hill Climbs. Probably qualifies for the X-Games too!

Huey doesn't race "per-se" unless you count autocross and hill climbs, and I would imagine hitting the rev limiter at every shift does wear on it....but when we got the engine, we didn't know anything about it and it had years and years of built up crud, oil, mouse nest, etc.... Took 5 gallons of parts cleaner to even see the fins on the heads and cylinders!! We figured it would last a year or so....lasted 4 so I'm happy.

Just bought this one off of Ebay,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-3-2-engine...b33&vxp=mtr

Now I have to load the car up, pick the motor in Atlanta and head to FLA to Joe @ Series9 for the conversion.
