Hello Gents. I was hoping to get some input on where to drill the holes between the front trunk and my recently purchased undermount ac unit for the ac lines. Any other ideas you guys might have on the subject. Newbie here and appreciate any and all assistance.

Does anyone have pictures of their project and where they routed the lines from the front trunk to the undermount unit? Below is the unit I just purchased.

Is that a new RetroAire unit or an old DPD assembly? Jeff Bowlsby has instructions for the DPD unit on his site.

Embarrassed to say I'm not quite sure. Jeff's site looks like it has a wealth of great knowledge, but the pictures on the one are hard to see. I was hoping to see someone with color pictures of where the cut the holes in their projects as well. Thanks

No.

Let me restate that... No I didn't receive the car with any AC but it is possible that originally it did. I should probably look to see if there are cutout there already.

I'm going to say that's RetroAir or Chinese generic. This is a DPD unit, has a chrome emblem next to the far right vent.

If the car had a/c there will be a large hole or two in the front trunk.

Also look for a notch cut out of the engine shelve front. There will already be holes drilled from front to back on the pass side. NOT small holes either.

Hopefully the unit works as advertised and isn't a crappy Chineese unit. The unit looks in great shape. I live in Denver now so the fact that it is a heater as well is a plus. I had paid $1000 from a guy who had a complete unused Renegade SBC Kit with AC compressor, pulleys etc. so I figure I would complete the job. The heater/AC unit was $100. I thought that was a good deal?

The heater section would require hot water for it to work, but if the fan motor works, this unit should be fine. Take and share photos of your install as I think more folks may be interested in this (as we get older and comfort becomes more of an issue). I know I'd certainly drive my -6 conversion much more if it were air conditioned!
